Personality: Loud, Proud and always ready to fight. He loves fighting strong opponents and big challenges. He doesn’t like fighting people who are clearly weaker than because he feels it’s boring, unless they did something to really piss him off. He is usually a cocky bastard, but most of the time he doesn’t let his loud confidence get the best of him. He usually does whatever he wants unless someone gives him a really good reason why he shouldn’t. He respects courage and determination, not to be confused with stupidity. He has a bad habit in bars of flirting with hot women, dining and dashing and getting in numerous bar brawls. He is annoyed by people who don’t even try to fight or defend themselves and/or ideals and usually robs them. He usually doesn't try to kill his opponents unless they do something to piss him off or are high ranking marines. He often feels " it's no consequence of mine whether they live or die, I just like a good fight". He is very loyal and despite how highly he puts himself as captain he always has his crew’s best interest in mind. 

Appearance: He is a tall and well built black man with hazel eyes and medium length dread locks. He wears a tan and gold short sleeve vest, white sleeveless t-shirt, black pants and red hand wraps.

History: Born on an island in the Wikia Archipelago (in the West Blue), he was basically a common street thug raised by uncommon parents. He studied Kung Fu (drunken boxing) under his a father a former pirate “Mad Man” Calico Barbados. He retired due to the fact that he knocked up his first mate Felicia, Nate’s mother. Nate trained under his father and always wanted to try out his skills by getting in street fights. He was one of the best fighters in the archipelago. At age 15 he eventually became the leader of his own little group of street thugs who were his best friends. He would fight anyone he thought would give him a challenge, even marines. Eventually beating up marine grunts made him cocky enough to pick a fight with a captain. During their fight it was clear that Nate was outmatched and the captain was playing with him. When the captain was about to finish him, Nate’s father intervened at the last second, kicking the captain through a wall of the marine headquarters.
The captain retreated but recognized Nate’s father and reported him to the world government for “assaulting marines and destroying government property”. Admiral Aku Inu came to the island with numerous marines to apprehend him, having fought the man in the past before. He immediately recognized him and his first mate. It immediately turned the Island into a small war zone as marines tried to give support fire which only wound hurting civilians and damaging the town which lead to all out riots and chaos. Calico noticed this and struck a deal that he and would turn himself in in exchange for the marines leave the town and his family alone. Many of the villagers screamed with outrage but the deal was done and Nate’s father was stuck in sea stone chains. He and his friends tried to do something but they were beaten down by the surrounding marines. Aku Inu however didn’t keep his end of the deal he told his men as their ship sailed away to open fire on the village for their previous rebellion during the massive battle. The hail of lava and cannon fire decimated the small village and killed many civilians. Nate was one of the few survivors, thanks to his mother shielding him with her body which left her heavily scarred. His father was gone to be what he assumed to be executed and his home and friends destroyed in cannon fire. He finds all of his friends dead. He sees his home in ruins and he and his mother gathered what few belongs survived the attack including his father’s old log book and the two travel and seek refuge on the other islands in the Wikia archipelago.
After 7 years of training and feeling he was ready to get out to sea he got a job on a pirate ship as a fighter. He leaves his mother with some of the survivors from the other islands and heads out with his mother’s lucky platinum coin as a good luck charm. After studying life on sea and getting adjusted to being one of the crew he developed an interest in the legendary one piece and desire to become a legend in the sea. He gets along swimmingly with the crew especially the first mate Jason Cook (everyone just called him hook due the hook on his right hand). However the crew grows tired of the captain’s refusal to move on towards the Grand line. After a successful raid with lots of gold, food and a devil fruit, Nate challenges the captain for leadership and with some effort defeats him and kicks him off the ship. He keeps the devil fruit and promises to take the crew to the grand line and eventually to One Piece.
